Final Blog

Do a brief final reflective blog post on your CST101 blog. Write about your experience with Google Sites.

I enjoyed this CST blog it allowed me to express my frustrations with various projects and the bugs i encountered during those projects. The Google sites ere not too difficult, after using them for different assignments they became very familiar. My favorite thing about Google sites was probably ho you could add all of the different pages and make them sub pages. It is definitely something more people should be aware of and a great learning tool.

CST 101 4/20/10

-- Brief summary of your personal experience with digital images (week of April 6-12) and video work (week of April 13-19). Feel free to re-use any info or text you personally created and posted during this period. Discuss briefly what you may have learned (or what was old news based on your prior experience), including from the online tutorials and/or Fluency text assigned reading.

In the past couple weeks i've learned how to properly use many programs from paint to Picasa it's really interesting creating things I did not think could be created using these programs. Photoshop was probably the program I was most familiar with but I still had a lot to learn with it. I learned how to blend layers when I made my Company logo. Creating a new Layer- This video showed me how to create multiple layers an how to use them.I received many helpful suggestions from teammates and classmates some really helpful ones were how to fill something in and how to edit text. The colors I used were Deep Violet, Dark Cyan, and Red.The Photoshop filter I used was Graphic Pen and it worked on exactly what I wanted it to work on. And one filter that didn't work was Chrome it made my logo look ugly.

Butterflies.

When your page works, and your ULR is posted, write a SUMMARY of your personal debugging process and post on your CST101 blog/journal. Compare/contrast your process with the process described in Chapter 7. Make sure you acknowledge specific assistance from teammates. (If you were your team's "Supreme Guru and Weblord," you may state this.)

My process with the butterflies was a little different than the one from the book because my image wouldn't appear in my end process although I have done all the right steps. But that happened with me with our Cat page as well so I ultimately don't understand where I went wrong.

Mindset: Are you back yet?

If so, how did you "switch gears" from Spring Break mindset to college success mindset? If not, what do you have to do this week to return mentally as well as physically?

I am slowly but surely getting back into the gears. Just over but as time passes I get back into my regular routines. There is really no way for me to prepare for me it's just an adjustment. By doing things my brain becomes more awake and by running my errands my body gets back into the swing of things. I am pretty active on campus, involved in a few clubs and committees so I’m sure they will get me back on track. For example I am I member of the Environmental Committee and today we are having a blood drive in which I am working a shift and donating. The busier I am the more acclimated I am, that’s just how I’ve always been will summer break It takes about a week or so to get back mentally and physically but with the shorter breaks just a few days is enough for me. Well this week I don’t have very many classes because of the Holiday and Furloughs so they won’t be aiding me in my quest to get back on track, although I do have a few assignments due and those are certainly keeping on my toes. I think it’s truly beneficial for to be a part of organizations and clubs on campus, keeps you involved and they help me stay on task. Overall I’m back physically but mentally I’m still in break mode over the next few days I should be back to normal.

First Blog

I had a bit of trouble finding my coolest job on Monster.com only because my dream job is a combination of three careers; Directing, Writing, and Producing. Writing the resume was pretty fun, it was like writing a story of what my life could be in the future. The peer review was very helpful because getting other people's input on. I liked learning more about alternative computer programs and what their uses are. I have used the school networks iLearn and MyCSUMB before but never in such detail i'm glad that i've had the opportunity to learn more about a system that i'm required to use on a daily basis. Although I had some reservations about CST i am glad I'm taking this course because it will enable me to develop technology skills I may not have acquired otherwise.
